<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a face thinner, the weight per unit volume smaller, rigidity higher, the carry of a ball longer and a head hardly breakable. SOLUTION: The head is formed as a hollow body 7 having the face 6 and the thickness of the face 6 is made different from the thicknesses of a sweat area 8 and other portions 9. The thickness of the sweat area 8 is made smaller than the thickness of the other portions 9. A rust preventive coating is applied on the surface of the body 7 and the portions of score lines 16 (16a to 16h) of a coating deposition layer 15 disposed at the face 6 are made thin and the other portions thick. The score lines 16 are formed by differences in the thicknesses of the coating deposition layer 15.</p> |
