PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure heating performance without clouding a window glass at the time of cold time in a vehicle with a low heating value of a heater core, as to an air conditioner for the vehicle. SOLUTION: This air conditioner is provided with an air suction passage 2 having a switching damper 5 for inside and outside air for regulating opening and closing amounts of an outside-air introducing passage 3 and an inside-air introducing passage 4, air diffusung ports 10, 11, 12 communicated with a cabin side and provided with opening and closing dampers 10a, 11a, 12a, an air conditioner duct 1 of which respective one-ends are connected to the air suction passage 2, of which the other ends are connected to the air diffusing ports 10, 11, 12, and provided with a blower 6 from an upstream and a heater core 9 with an air mix damper 8, a circulation passage 13 of which respective one-ends are connected to a space between the air diffusing ports 10, 11, 12 and the heater core 9, and of which the other ends are connected to the air suction passage 2, a circulation passage opening and closing damper 14 for regulating opening and closing amounts of the circulation passage 13, and a controller 15 for controlling an opening and closing amount of the switching damper 5 to a position to make the both inside and outside air introduced, when the circulation passage opening closing damper 14 is opened.
