PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a catalyst composition with which a lower isoparaffin can be produced from a synthetic gas while keeping the activity of the catalyst high, and to provide a method for the production of a lower isoparaffin by using this catalyst. SOLUTION: By this method, a hydrogenation catalyst 14 is brought into contact with a Fischer-Tropsch(FT) synthesis catalyst 10 which synthesizes straight-chain hydrocarbons from the synthetic gas of hydrogen and carbon monoxide and with a solid acid catalyst 12 which hydrogenates, decomposes and isomerizes the straight-chain hydrocarbons. Then, hydrogen is supplied from the hydrogenation catalyst 14 to the FT synthesis catalyst 10 and to the solid acid catalyst 12 to increase the catalytic activity of the FT synthesis catalyst 10 and the solid acid catalyst 12 while suppressing deactivation. |
