DEVICE FOR SETTLING FLUORESCENT MATERIAL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the quality of a fluorescent material in production by using at least one liquid cyclone in a fluorescent material settling device provided with a solid settling means to settle solids from treated water. SOLUTION: The treated water is supplied from a booster pump 10 to a liquid cyclone 40. The liquid stream (partial stream) passing through a nozzle 70 contains about 5090% (generally about 80%) of the solid content originally contained in the treated water before treated. The partial stream is stored in an adequate vessel and then supplied from a booster pump 20 to a second stage liquid cyclone 60 to be concentrated. The concentrated partial stream contains the fluorescent material of high concentration capable of being recovered by settling. Since each of the overflowed streams at the first stage and second stage liquid cyclones contains a small amount of the settleable fluorescent material, they are stored in a transfer vessel 100 and then sent to a subsequent stage liquid cyclone 50 by a booster pump 30. Subsequently, they are subjected to clarification treatment and then discharged as wastewater containing undesired solids.
