PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject single-component resin having transparency and excellent refractive index-dispersion characteristics under the condition of containing no aromatic group or halogen atom unlike the case of conventional aliphatic and aromatic optical resins, and useful for various optical parts, by including a specific structure. SOLUTION: This resin is obtained by including a structure of formula I (R1 is ethylene, propylene, or the like; R2 is H, an alkyl, an aryl, or the like; (n) is an integer). The resin is obtained by conducting a ring-opening polymerization of at least one kind of compound of formula II (e.g. a 4-methyl-1,3- oxazolidine-2-thione) using an initiator such as a boron trifluoride ether complex. The resin has a refractive index of pref. 1.55 to 1.75 and Abbe's number of pref. 35 to 50. |
