PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel control valve feedback control method for an engine which can attain an optimum operation characteristic in each region in accordance with the region of operation on condition that necessary lean combustion is performed to attain sufficient reduction of NOx and improvement of fuel consumption. SOLUTION: In this fuel control valve feedback control method controlling a fuel supply amount to an engine based on a map in accordance with a preset engine speed and throttle opening, the map has a base map and a second map setting the fuel supply amount to a lean side from this base map, during fuel supply controlled by the base map, fuel is gradually made lean while deciding a misfire, making lean is stopped in the point of time reaching the misfire or the second map, this fuel supply amount is learned, to rewrite the base map, and the fuel supply amount is controlled in accordance with this rewritten base map.
