PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a latch lock which is simple in structure, and silent in opening/closing operation. SOLUTION: The latch lock comprises a lock case 14 having an opening part, a front plate 18 mounted on an opening part of the lock case and having a through hole 16, a latch bolt 22 accommodated in the lock case 14 and partly retractable from the through hole 16 in the front plate 18, and an urging means 45 to urge the latch bolt 22 to the through hole 16 side of the front plate 18. The latch bolt 22 is provided with an engagement part abutted on the inside of a peripheral edge part of the through hole 16 of the front plate 18, and a cushioning member 36 formed of an elastic material such as a synthetic resin and a rubber is provided for the engagement part.
