PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a label printer in which the time required for altering a designated item of a PLU file can be shortened while preventing alteration miss. SOLUTION: The label printer having a PLU file storing items for designating the name of article for each article number as article information and printing a label based on the article information stored in the PLU file comprises a section for designating items to be altered, a section for designating the item altered at the designating section, and means 12 for retrieving the designated item to be altered from the PLU file and altering it to the item designated at the designating section.
