PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscope capable of simply adjusting an image observing device at the proximal end of an image transmission body. SOLUTION: This endoscope 10 is provided with a receiver 14 at the proximal end for an image observing device and a pipe-like shaft installed at the distal end of the receiver 14 and having an image transmission body 12 in it. The image observing device in the receiver 14 is adjusted on the image position and image center, and the position for the image transmission body 12 is adjusted. An insert 16 having an outside contour 17 connected to the receiver 14 spatially fixedly to adjust an eyepiece 15 and an axial direction inner through bore 18 allowing the eyepiece 15 to be inserted in the shape connection coupled state fitted. The relative position of the through bore 18 against the outside contour 17 of the insert 16 is determined in reference to the space coordinates indicating the adjusted position of the eyepiece 15 in the receiver 14 against the image transmission body 12 obtained on the endoscope 10.
