PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing 2-azabicyclo[2.2.1]hepto-5-en-3-on in a high purity and high yield, and economically. SOLUTION: This method for producing 2-azabicyclo[2.2.1]hepto-5-en-3-on is provided by mixing a substituted sulfonylcyanide expressed by the formula: R-SO2CN (R is an alkyl group or a (substituted) phenyl group) and cyclopentadiene continuously, and adding the obtained reaction liquid into water or a mixed solvent consisting of water with a hydrocarbon solvent continuously under a condition of pH 4-7 of the reaction system for reacting them.
