PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simply, effectively purify the subject metallocene compound which is useful as a polymerization catalyst of anα-olefin, in good recovery by treating specific crosslinked metallocene products mixture with a specific mixed solvent. SOLUTION: The subject metallocene compound is purified by treating a product mixture formed in synthesis of a crosslinked metalocene having a halogen substituent expressed by formula (R1, R2, R4 and R5 are each H, etc.; R3 and R6 are each a divalent 3-10C hydrocarbon forming a condensed ring with a five membered ring with which they are bonding; R7 and R8 are each a halogen, etc., replaceable with H on condensed rings R3 and R6; wherein at least one of R1, R2, R4, R5, R7 and R8 is a halogen, etc.; m and n are each 0-20; Q is a 1-20C divalent hydrocarbon, etc., bonding the two five membered rings; X and Y are each an amino group, etc.; M is a transition metal belonging to fourth to sixth group of the periodic system), with a mixed solvent of a halogen including hydrocarbon such as 1,2-dichloroethane, etc., and an aprotic polar solvent (preferably, tetrahydrofuran).
