STERILIZING METHOD USING IMMOBILIZED BACTERICIDAL MATERIAL AND IMMOBILIZED BACTERICIDAL MATERIAL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To sterilize the whole of a water system to be treated by putting and dispersing an immobilized bactericidal material obtained by immobilized bactericide molecules on fine ferrite carrier particles in the water system to be sterilized. SOLUTION: An immobilized bactericidal material obtained by immobilized bactericide molecules of fine ferrite carrier particles is put and dispersed in a water system to be sterilized. Since the bactericide is covalent-bonded to the surface of the carrier having various shapes such as plate and granule shapes, the bactericide is not leached out in the water to be treated and can be recovered together with the carrier. The particle diameter of the carrier particles is preferably <=20 μm, in particular <=1.0 μm. A quaternary ammonium salt is preferably used as the bactericide. The entire water system is sterilized and the remaining of the bactericide in the water and the discharge of the bactericide into the environment are prevented.
