PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a preparation for preventing and treating insulin dependent diabetes (IDDM) by making the preparation include a T-ell activated by a specific protein, a surface protein eliminated from the T-cell or a specific peptide. SOLUTION: This preparation comprises (A) a T-cell having acquired specificity to a protein having immunological reactivity to an antibody against heat shock protein (hHSP65) of 65 kilodalton, activated by incubation in the presence of the protein or by incubation with a mitogen (division stimulation agent) capable of inducing immune response by the T-cell, (B) the attenuated T-cell, (C) the C-cell subjected to pressure treatment by water pressure, treatment with a chemical crosslinking agent and/or treatment with a cell skeleton crosslinking agent, (D) a surface protein eliminated from the cells A-C or (E) a peptide essentially composed of a variable region of a receptor of the component A specific to the protein, its salt, a functional derivative, a precursor or active fraction. |
