Process for the alkylation of benzene with isopropanol, or a mixture of isopropanol and propylene, under pressure and temperature conditions corresponding to complete gas phase of the mixture present in the reaction section and in the presence of a catalyst comprising beta zeolite and an inorganic ligand.
