PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To vary a driving force outputted from a rod and to exhibit a large driving force without making a whole cylinder device to a large size. SOLUTION: A fixed piston 3 is provided in a main cylinder chamber 7 and a movable piston 4 slidable against a rod 5 is provided in a sub-cylinder chamber 8. The movable piston 4 is constituted by a claw part 14 and a cam part 15 and a recess portion and a groove portion 5B are provided on the claw portion 14 and the rod 5 respectively. When a pressure fluid is fed to the main cylinder chamber 7, an urging force is applied to the fixed piston 3 provided in the cylinder chamber 7. At this time, since the movable piston 4 is slidable against the rod 5, it is retained at a position of a rod base end side in the sub-cylinder chamber 8. When the fixed piston 3 is passed through a connection port 9B provided in the main cylinder chamber 7, the pressure fluid is also fed to the sub-cylinder chamber 8 and the movable piston 4 starts to advance. When the recess portion and the groove portion 5B abut each other, an urging force against the rod 5 starts to be applied to the movable piston 4.
