PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a resin composition excellent in processing stability and discoloration resistance by adding a specified amount of a phosphite compound to a synthetic resin. SOLUTION: This composition is obtained by adding 0.005-10 pts.wt. phosphite compound represented by formula I or II to 100 pts.wt. synthetic resin. In the formula, (p) is 1-3; (q) is 1 or 2; R is a 1-8C alkyl, a 6-30C aryl or an alkylaryl; R1 is a 1-18C alkyl, a 6-30C aryl or an alkylaryl; R2 is a group derived by the removal of a OH groups from a 1-18C p-valent alcohol compound or a 6-30C p-valent phenolic compound; and R3 is a 3-18C alkylene when (q) is 1 and is a 4-18C alkanetetrayl when (q) is 2. It is desirable that the phosphite compound is a compound represented by formula III or IV. In the formulae, (n) is 1-3; R7 is R; and R'' is R1. It is desirable that the synthetic resin contains at least one member selected from an olefin resin, a polycarbonate resin and a styrene resin.
