PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sliding member excellent in wear resistance and seizure resistance as for both of an aluminum alloy member and a mating member to be mutually slid with this member. SOLUTION: An aluminum alloy member having a componential compsn. contg., by weight, 14.5 to 16.5% Si, 3.0 to 4.0% Cu, 0.55 to 0.90% Mg, 0.40 to 0.60% Mn, 0.05 to 0.30% Cr, 0.05 to 0.15% Ti, 0.03 to 0.05% P, 0.7 to 1.2% Fe, <=1.0% Zn, <=0.3% Ni and <=0.3% Sn, and the balance Al with impurities, in which primary crystals of Si of 3 to 10μm average grain size and an Al-Si- Fe-Mn-Cr intermetallic compd. are crystallized out and a particle dispersed composite plated mating member in which a plating matrix composed of Ni, P and Co is incorporated with dispersion particles composed of at least one kind of hexagonal boron nitride and silicon nitride are combined.
