PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet cartridge which allows an ink jet head to be accurately and readily positioned and enables high quality recording. SOLUTION: An ink jet head 1 is connected to a head holding member 30 such that a base plate thereof is guided. An ink tank support member 41 is connected to the head holding member 30 having the ink jet head 1 connected thereto. At that time, the ink jet head 1 is inserted between the head holding member 30 and ink tank support member 41 and is elastically supported by an elastic member 50.
