PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic engine stop/start device for vehicle capable of reducing a shock caused on the vehicle when an engine of a vehicle with automatic engine start/stop function is restarted automatically. SOLUTION: A microcomputer 120 controls an automatic transmission 40 so as to maintain a transmission gear position at 1st position when the amount of depression detected by a depressed amount sensor 110a while an engine 10 is stopped automatically is 30% or higher and, also controls an automatic transmission 10 so as to move the transmission gear position to 2nd position when the amount of the detected depression while the engine 10 is stopped automatically is less than 30%.
