PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method by which a foil is easily and surely fitted on the surface of a seal impression base material. SOLUTION: This fitting method has a process wherein the head horizontal top surface of a supporting tool 6 comprising a head section 7 and a shaft section 8 is bonded to the printing surface 2 of a seal impression base material with a double adhesive coated tape in a manner not to protrude from the printing surface 2, a process wherein the shaft section 8 of the supporting tool 6 is rotated, and a foil 9 is affixed while the side peripheral surface of the seal impression base material is brought into contact with the foil 9 laid on a base plate 10, and a process wherein the supporting tool 6 is erected to stand the seal impression on which the foil 9 is affixed, and a clear spray coating is performed on the surface.
