PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To assist a driver in operating a vehicle for parking it in tandem, in a way that is easy to understand. SOLUTION: When a vehicle is backed and parked in tandem in a parking space 13, an advance estimating curve 5 is displayed according to steering angle and the steering or turn back position needed for parking the vehicle in a target parking position is displayed by a guideline 40. As the vehicle backs, the positions of the advance estimating curve 5 and the guideline 40 vary, and parking the vehicle in tandem can be completed when the steering wheel is turned back at the position where the position of the guideline 40 coincides with a target such as a kerb present alongside the parking space 40. An ideal curve to be advanced from the current position to the target parking position 45 may be display in place of the guideline 40 to permit assisting parking in such a way that the vehicle is backed with the operation of the steering wheel such that the estimation curve 5 to be advanced extends along the ideal curve to be advanced. |
