PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum cleaner causing seldom contact defect in use. SOLUTION: A local operation body 40 is constituted of a rotor hold section 48 rotatably holding a rotor 50, a dust guide pipe section 47 connected to an extension pipe and the rotor 50 to guide dust, and a hollow local grip section 45 protruded from the upper section of the dust guide pipe section 47, and it is provided with an operation switch S for controlling the operation of a motor-driven fan. The rotor hold section 48 is provided with a contact point cover 49 inscribed to a fixed contact point electrically connected to the operation switch S, and an annular armature electrically connected to the motor- driven fan is fitted to the peripheral face of the rotor 50. Since the operation switch S and motor-driven fan are electrically connected via the annular armature and the fixed contact point, the operation of the motor-driven fan can be controlled by the action of the operation switch regardless of the rotation of the rotor 50. The contact point cover 49 is stored in the hollow local grip section 45.
