MUSHROOM BED FOR REARING LARVA OF STAG BEETLE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a mushroom bed for rearing a larva of a stag beetle without producing a fruit body and to provide a container storing the mushroom bed therein. SOLUTION: This mushroom bed is used for rearing a larva of a stag beetle. Hyphae contained in the mushroom bed are monocaryotic hyphae which can be the monocaryotic hyphae of a mushroom belonging to the family selected from the group consisting of the families Pleurotaceae, Tricholamataceae and Strophariaceae. The mushroom bed can be formed by inoculating a culture medium containing sawdust of a broad-leaved tree with the mocaryotic hyphae and carrying out the culturing. The larva of the stag beetle can further be contained in the container storing the above mushroom bed for rearing the larva of the stag beetle.
