PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a composition that stably retains an enzyme activity over a long period of time and that is low irritating and is excellent in foaming properties by blending an enzyme with a glyceryl ether sulfate compound and/or a glyceryl ether sulfonate compound. SOLUTION: A glyceryl ether sulfate compound of formula I and/or a glyceryl ether sulfonate compound of formula II are used. In the formulae, R1 denotes a 6-22C alkyl, alkenyl or hydroxy alkyl; OA1 and OA2 denote each independently a 2-3C oxyalkylene; n and m are each independently 0 to 20; n+m is 0 to 20; G denotes a glycerin residue; p is 1 to 10; and M denotes H or a salt forming cation. As an enzyme, a protease, a lipase, an amylase, a dextranase, a mutanase, a cellulase or the like is enumerated. The amount of the compound of formula I and/or the compound of formula II is preferably 2-40 wt.% in the case of a liquid form, 0.5-10 wt.% in the case of a paste form, and 1-60 wt.% in the case of a solid matter.
