PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it easy to clean the interior of a hopper dryer and perform its maintenance and inspection services by splitting the cylindrical member of a cylindrical pellet storage part into two vertically and installing a heated air blast pipe and a heated air exhaust pipe on one of the split halves and connecting the other split half, in a freely openable/closable manner, to the one split half through a hinge. SOLUTION: A pellet storage cylinder 10 is vertically split into two and split halves 44a, 44b are stored in box bodies 42a, 42b respectively. In addition, a heated air blast pipe 18 and a heated air exhaust pipe 14 are installed on the upper face of the box body 42a, while an outlet pipe 16 of a pellet feed hopper 15 is installed on the upper face of the split half 44b. Further, a discharging opening 18e at the lower end of a bulged part 18c of the heated air blast pipe 18 is opened toward a discharging opening 22 at the lower end of a pellet discharging part 20, the upper end of which is, in turn, made to come into close contact with the inner face of the split half 44a through a packing. Further, the box bodies 42a, 42b are connected to each other, in a freely openable/closable manner, with the help of a hinge 48. Thus the two split halves 44a, 44b are fitted to each other by closing the box body 42b into the form of the pellet storage cylinder 10.
