PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the titled filter low in a pressure drop, capable of preventing a molten polymer from stagnating and generating gel and usable suitably even for high pressure filtration in the case of the filtration of a fluid to be treated such as the molten polymer, for example. SOLUTION: In this filter, a filtration chamber is formed between a filter medium and a filtrate outlet and a spacer member 5 is provided in the filtration chamber to support the filter medium directly or indirectly. The spacer member 5 contains a coiled wire body 6 so that the filter medium is supported by the outer peripheral surface of the wire body 6 by arranging the central axis of this wire body 6 in parallel with the face of the filter medium.
