PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To excavate a circular arc-shaped trench efficiently to a shape as close as possible to the true circular arc. SOLUTION: A horizontal multi-spindle rotary type excavator 21 of the present invention has frame main bodies 25a, 25b mutually connected together in parallel in a state where a wedge-shaped member 26 is clamped by them. The wedge shaped member 26 is fixed to the frame main body 25b, a mud lifting pipe 6 is arranged to penetrate through the wedge-shaped member 26 in vertical direction, the frame main body 25a is connected by bolt fastening or the like in the configuration, and the frame main body 25a and the frame main body 25b fixed to the wedge-shaped member 26 can be jointed together or disconnected on the job site.
