PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an identification code-detecting device for a dog, capable of automatically identifying the stray dogs from lost dogs or the stray cats from lost cats without any intervention by a human in an animal-controlling center, since among the stray dogs and cats captured in the animal-controlling center, general kept dogs are sometimes included, and recently it is spreading to attach the individual body identifying device which records an individual body identification code, to a pet. SOLUTION: This identification code-detecting device consists of an individual body identification device 2 attached to a dog and recording its individual body identification code, a loop antenna 4 installed at the entrance 91 of a dog chamber 9 through which the dog passes, and reading the individual body-identification code, an antenna- controlling device 41 capable of reading the antenna output, and a process-controlling device 6 performing the processing and controlling the read information, and identifies whether the passing dog is the dog having the individual body identifying device 2 and individual identification code or not. The dogs and cats brought into an animal- controlling center can be identified as the lost dogs or lost cats automatically and a suitable protecting means can be applied.
