PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and surely extinguish the fire of tobacco and to prevent the dissolution of black carbide into water and the consequent pollution of the water or the generation of splashes around an ashtray by mixing water, glycol, an water absorptive acrylic polymer, porous inorganic matter and sodium hydrogencarbonate and stirring the mixture. SOLUTION: The tobacco fire extinguishing agent 11 is prepared by mixing the water, the glycol, the water absorptive acrylic polymer 5, the porous inorganic matter 3 and the sodium hydrogencarbonate and further, perfume 4 at need, then stirring the mixture. Namely, the mixture 1 composed of the water, the glycol and the sodium hydrogencarbonate is first put into a container 2 (a) and the perfume 4 is incorporated into the mixture 1 and the mixture is stirred (b). Next, the porous inorganic matter 3 is incorporated therein and the mixture is stirred (c). The water absorptive acrylic polymer 5, such as acrylate, is mixed and stirred (d). The manipulation described above is carried out at room temperature. The mixture 1 composed of the water, the glycol, the sodium hydrogencarbonate, the absorptive acrylic polymer 5 and the porous inorganic matter 3 is gradually made into powder of a moist state as the mixture is stirred (e), by which the tobacco fire extinguishing agent 11 is completed.
