PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the deterioration of usability and to prevent a problem such as the boilover caused by the nonconformity between a water level and a rice cooking course in a rice cooker having many rice cooking courses. SOLUTION: This rice cooker is provided with a first cooking function having a polished rice course, a hard cooking course, a soft cooking course, a freshly polished rice course, and a quick cooking course as rice cooking courses and a second cooking function having an unpolished rice course, a 30%-polished rice course, a 50%-polished rice course, a 70%-polished rice course, and a gruel course as rice cooking courses. In the individual rice cooking courses of the first cooking function, the water quantity against the rice quantity is nearly the same. In the individual rice cooking courses of the second cooking function, the water quantity against the rice quantity is larger and the heat quantity after boiling is less than those of the first cooking function. The rice cooking courses of the first cooking function are selected by a menu switch 18, and the rice cooking courses of the second cooking function are selected by a separate health course switch 19.
