PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a miniaturized combustion type rice cooker capable of reliably preventing the glutenous scum generated from a rice cooking pot during rice cooking from being blown off to the outside. SOLUTION: This combustion type rice cooker is provided with a lid 4 removably fitted to a fitting section 10 extending so as to face downward from the lid 4 when the upper section of a rice cooking pot is closed, an inner lid section 13 having a pot communication hole 12 allowing a lid internal space 11 to communicate with the inside of the rice cooking pot, and a moving body 14 removably and vertically movably fitted to the fitting section 10 and closing the pot communication hole 2 of the inner lid section 13 when it is moved downward by its tare weight. A control means controls the combustion of a burner to prevent the glutenous scum generated from the rice cooking pot during rice cooking from being blown off to the outside based on the detection information of an upward shift detecting means 18 detecting the upward shift of the moving body 14 by a set quantity or above from the closing position of the pot communication hole 12.
