NON-HALOGEN FLAME RETARDANT RESIN COMPOSITION AND FLAME RETARDANT ELECTRIC WIRE AND CABLE USING IT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a non-halogen flame retardant resin composition that has good mechanical characteristics and good electrical insulation properties as well as excellent flame retardancy and can be suitably used as an insulating material for electric wire and cable or the like. SOLUTION: This non-halogen flame retardant resin composition is prepared by adding, to 100 pts.wt. polyolefin resin mixture comprising not less than 40 wt.% ethylene-propylene rubber, from not less than 45 pts.wt. to not more than 250 pts.wt. inorganic metal flame retardant and from not less than 5 pts.wt. to not more than 100 pts.wt. inorganic flame retardant treated with molybdenum. The flame retardant electric wire and cable having an insulation resistance at 25 deg.C of not less than 300 MΩ/km include an insulating layer formed using the non-halogen flame retardant resin composition.
