PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify the constitution of the connection part of a sheet material and improve workability in a cutoff treatment using the sheet material in a construction such as a partition revetment in a reclaimed land or the like. SOLUTION: When a water cutoff treatment for a partition revetment is carried out by use of an impervious sheet such as polyvinyl chloride or rubber, the ends of a number of sheets 11, 11a,... are superimposed with each other and the superimposed part 14 is fixed by a temporary fixing member 16, 16a, and stuck to each other by an adhesive 15 applied between the respective sheets to secure a water sealing property in the connection part of the superimposed sheets. As the temporary fixing member 16, a member like Velcro or the like which can be easily connected in water is used so that the superposed part can be easily positioned.
