SOLUTION: A contact angleαis 22-28 degrees, a ratio Da/L of a diameter Da of a large diameter side end of a tapered roller and a length L of the tapered roller is 0.51-1.0, and a coefficient (k) of the number of rollers represented by k=(dm/Da).sin(180 deg./z) is 1.16-1.32 when the number of the tapered rollers is (z). In a case of a tapered roller bearing for supporting a pinion shaft of a differential gear having this constitution, the rotary torque can be reduced while ensuring the sufficient fatigue life and the bearing rigidity. Accordingly the power loss of the differential gear part is reduced while ensuring the performance required for the differential gear, which contributes to the fuel saving of an automobile.
