PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently and economically manufacture a ring-shaped gear by forming a groove part on a wall thickness side wall surface of the ring-shaped gear. SOLUTION: A ring-shaped gear 10 integratedly has a wall thickness part 12 and a thin wall part 14, and helical gear parts 16 are disposed on an outer peripheral side of the wall thickness part 12. Spur gear parts 18 are arranged on an outer peripheral side of the thin wall part 14. In the wall thickness part 12, a groove part 24 is formed on a side wall surface 20 arranged on a side opposite to a side wall surface 19 of the thin wall part 14 side before carburizing and hardening process. The groove part 24 has a rectangular shaped opening cross section, and surrounds along all circumferences of the side wall surface 20. A depth A of the groove part 24, a distance B between an inner circumferential surface 22 of the wall thickness part 12 and the groove part 24, a width C of the groove part 24, and a distance D between the groove part 24 and a gear bottom surface 26 of the wall thickness 12 are respectively set. A recessed groove part 24 which surrounds corresponding to a desired position of the side wall surface 20 is formed. The position and shape of the groove part 24 are set.
