PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a skull removing device on a sub-lance hole in a converter, with which the skull stuck to the inner wall surface of the sub-lance hole in the converter can surely be removed in a short time without needing human labor. SOLUTION: An air breaker 4 is fitted so as to be freely elevated/lowered at the tip part of a frame 1 freely shiftable, and at the lower part of the air breaker 4, a hitting member 5 for detaching, and removing the skull stuck to the inner wall surface of the sub-lance hole, is fitted by inserting this lower part into the sub-lance hole. It is desirable that the air-breaker is freely elevated/lowered with a motor cylinder 3 fitted to the top part of the frame 1.
