摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the speed of the diminishing of an aluminum cathode plate and to provide a cathode plate with long service life by providing a composition which consists of specific amounts of Ti and the balance Al with inevitable impurities and in which the amounts of Fe and Cu among the impurities are limited to respectively specified values or below. SOLUTION: The alloy is composed of an aluminum alloy for cathode having a composition which consists of, by weight, 0.01-0.07% Ti and the balance Al with inevitable impurities and in which the amounts of Fe and Cu among the impurities are limited to <=0.10% and <=0.010%, respectively. It is preferable that the alloy is composed of an aluminum alloy for cathode having a composition which consists of, by weight, 0.01-0.07% Ti and the balance Al with inevitable impurities and in which, among the impurities, the amounts of Fe, Cu, Si, Mn, Mg, Zn, Cr, B, V, Ga, and Ni are limited to <=0.10%, <=0.010%, <=0.10%, <=0.050%, <=0.02%, <=0.02%, <=0.010%, <=0.002%, <=0.02%, <=0.02%, and <=0.01%, respectively.
