PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject oxygen absorbing resin composition excellent in gas barrier property and transparency, having improved oxygen absorbing rate, capable of applying for a use for a packaging material and a container by selecting a polyamide resin having fixed range of terminal amino group concentration and combining it with a transition metal based catalyst. SOLUTION: This resin composition includes (A) a polyamide resin having 10-50 eq/106 g of terminal amino group concentration, and (B) a transition metal based catalyst (carboxylate of cobalt is preferred). A polyamide resin having terminal carboxyl concentration (eq/106 g)/terminal amino group concentration (eq/106 g) ratio of 1-12 is preferred as the component A. For example, a polyamide derived from a diamine component comprising xylylene diamine as the main constituent and dicarboxylic acid component is preferred. The component B of 10-5,000 ppm as the transition metal based on the polyamide resin is preferably included. A packaging material and a packaging container capable of inhibiting reduction of flavor by oxygen are provided from the composition.
