PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively cool an electric motor provided on an independent wheel drive component for rolling stock. SOLUTION: Four independent wheel drive components 101 are mounted on the truck frame 102 of an independent wheel steering truck 100 for rolling stock. Each independent wheel drive component 101 is of a component structure in which wheels 104 are freely rotatably positioned on the outer periphery of an electric motor 103 and the torque of the electric motor 103 is decelerated by a speed reducer and transmitted to the wheels 104. Fans 130 are provided on the right and left frames 102a of the truck frame 102, and air fed by the fans 130 passes through a wind tunnel 131 formed within each frame 102a and is forced into the electric motor 103 via a feed port formed in the motor frame of the electric motor 103 and is exhausted from an exhaust port formed in the end face of the electric motor 103. Thus, the electric motor 103 is forcibly air cooled.
