PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic radial tire to reduce the generation of passage noise during acceleration running as high drainage ability is maintained, and realize suppression of wear of the center of a tread part. SOLUTION: A pneumatic radial tire comprises bead cores situated at a pair of right and left bead parts; carcasses 1 extending from a crown part to two bead parts through two side parts and wound around respective bead cores and moored at respective bead parts; a two-layer belt 2 situated at the tire radial outside of the crown part of the carcass 1; a tread 3 situated at the tire radial outside of the belt 2; and a pair of side walls situated at the right and the left of the tread. When the outermost layer 2b of the belt 2 is divided into a central section 6 occupying 0.2-0.35 times a tread width toward two sides in the direction of a tire width from a tire equatorial plane and the two end sections 7 thereof, the central section 6 is positioned between the inner peripheral sides situated in the direction of a tire radius by 1-5 mm from the two end sections 7.
