PURPOSE: A method for releasing gas pressure setting mode of a gas boiler is provided to prevent overheating of a heat exchanger by forcibly release the gas pressure setting mode when the heat exchanger is overheated. CONSTITUTION: A method for releasing gas pressure setting mode of a gas boiler includes the steps of continuously sensing a processing time of temperature and gas pressure setting mode of a heat exchanger(21), determining the sensed time reaches a preset time by comparing the sensed temperature and a preset time(22), finishing the gas pressure setting mode while driving of a burner is continued and carrying out normal operation if yes(23), determining whether the sensed temperature reaches an overheating prevention temperature if no by comparing the sensed temperature with the overheating prevention temperature to stopping the driving of the burner and releasing a release mode of the gas pressure setting mode(25,26), continuously sensing the temperature of the heat exchanger if the sensed temperature has not reached the overheating prevention temperature, and proceeding the gas pressure setting mode while comparing the sensed temperature with the overheating prevention temperature.
