PURPOSE: A device for handling paper money is provided to reduce the size of a machine by supplying a temporary carriage area designed to temporarily store multiple paper money that has passed through a paper money identifier, an excellent paper money arrangement status for storing and returning paper money from a carriage box, and a horizontal operation form of stacking device. CONSTITUTION: A device for handling paper money is composed of recognition, storage, and discharge. A paper money carriage box(900) is installed in the inside of a main body(910). A paper money identifier(200) recognizes and identifies the face value and the authenticity of the paper money that has been inserted through a paper money insert slot(101). A paper money pressurization device(300) applies a small amount of pressure to a first transfer belt(306) and a second transfer belt(307). A paper money transfer department(400) transfers the paper money to a temporary storage location(A). A second paper money ramification device(600) guides the paper money, which has been inserted through a sixth and a ninth transfer belt(630,670), to a carriage standby location(B). A horizontal operation form of stacking device(700) pushes the carriage standby location's paper money to the carriage box. A paper money discharge device(601) discharges the paper money, which has been arranged by a paper money arrangement device(501), to the outside through a paper money return slot(102).
