PROCESS FOR PRODUCING PASTE CONTAINING PLATY ALUMINUM POWDER

PURPOSE: Provided is a process for producing paste containing aluminum powder, which the cost of production is low by using scrap being byproduct of aluminum foil as source material of ball milling. CONSTITUTION: The process contains; i) cutting aluminum foil into scrap of ball size or less; ii) injecting a cut foil scrap, ball and 50-600wt%(based on the foil scrap) of mineral sprit in a ball milling vessel and adding 1-4.5% of unsaturated fatty acid such as oleic acid; iii) preparing platy aluminum powder paste intermediate by ball milling it in the milling vessel; and then iv) preparing a final platy aluminum powder by controlling amount of solvent after vacuum drying and filtering it. The paste is composed of aluminium powder of not less than 60wt%.
