PURPOSE: A method for automatically controlling an optimal deposition rate according to the sectional change of a welding portionis provided to control a deposition rate by coping with the processing error and the assembling error of the welding portion using the property of constant current welding. CONSTITUTION: A standard deposition rate of a standard groove is set and the area of an actual groove(9) is measured by a visual sensor(8). A comparator(3) compares the area of the standard groove with the area of the actual groove and sends a compensating signal to a controller(6). Due to the signal, the welding current(10) and the welding voltage(11) of a welding apparatus(7) are adjusted or the current and the voltage are compensated by the controller.
