PURPOSE: A front panel of a plasma display panel and a method for fabricating the front panel are provided to expand a discharge space and to increase an expose areas of a protective film, thereby lowering discharge voltage. CONSTITUTION: A front panel of a plasma display panel consists of a transparency substrate, a discharge electrode, a transparency dielectric layer, a protective film. The transparency dielectric layer has a protrusion contacting with a barrier rib of a back panel. The protective film is served to discharge an electron. A method for fabricating the front panel comprises the steps of: forming at least the first transparency dielectric layer on a front side of the transparency substrate formed with the discharge electrode; forming the pattern of the second transparency dielectric layer on the first transparency dielectric layer; and forming the protective film. By forming the protrusion on the transparency dielectric layer of the front panel, it is possible to expand a discharge space and to increase an expose areas of a protective film within the discharge space. |
