PURPOSE: A window open/close detection apparatus is provided to prevent theft by allowing the driver to visually recognize opening/closure of the window. CONSTITUTION: A window open/close detection apparatus is installed at a portion contacting the window of the vehicle door in such a manner that a marking indicative of opening of the vehicle window is appeared at a gauge panel disposed in front of the driver's seat. A window open/close device(7) is installed to a window support(8) installed within a door cover disposed beneath the vehicle windows. The window open/close detection apparatus consists of four parts, each of which indicates the opening of the four windows of the four motor vehicle doors. An element(6) is fixed to the window through a bolt and a nut. When the window is closed, the element is raised to press the window open/close device, so that the marking indicative of opening of the window is eliminated.
