摘要 PURPOSE: A device and method for controlling tracking by considering eccentricity of an optical disc are provided so that a speed error can be minimized in one track jump, regardless of an eccentric speed. CONSTITUTION: A subtracter(10) calculates a difference speed. A speed controller(20) outputs a speed control voltage corresponding to the difference speed. A kick/break voltage generator(30) consecutively outputs a kick voltage until the tracking error reaches to the first switching point adjacent to a downward zero cross point, calculates a maximum tracking error, calculates the second switching point by multiplying the maximum tracking error by the first constant greater than -1 and smaller than -0.5, and calculates the third switching point by multiplying the maximum tracking error by a second constant greater than the first constant and smaller than 0. When the tracking error is smaller than the first switching point, the kick/break voltage generator(30) generates the first break voltage. When the tracking error is smaller than the second switching point, the kick/break voltage generator(30) generates a second break voltage smaller than the first break voltage. The first adder(40) adds the speed control voltage to the kick/break voltage, and applies the output to a micro-actuator(50). A speed sensor(60) detects an actual speed.
