PURPOSE: A driving device for a fixing device is provided so that paper can be easily removed without requiring a manual operation for releasing a heat roller and a pressing roller. CONSTITUTION: When a driving motor(10) is driven, a driving force is transmitted to a fixing device driving gear(20) through a gear train(11). A driving shaft(21) is rotated with the driving gear(20). Here, a spring clutch(41) is rotated in a winding direction. According to the rotation in the winding direction, the spring clutch(41) is wound around a hub of a vertical driving gear(30), thereby rotating the vertical driving gear(30) in an identical direction. The vertical driving gear(30) rotates a heat roller gear(6a), thereby driving a heat roller(6) and a pressing roller. When paper is jammed between the heat roller(6) and the pressing roller, a controller displays an error message "PAPER JAM" on a display window. When a user pulls the paper, the heat roller(6) and the pressing roller are rotated, and thus the vertical driving gear(30) is rotated. The rotation of the vertical driving gear(30) does not influence on the spring clutch(41). Thus, the driving gear(20) is not rotated. Accordingly, an entire driving load is not applied to the heat roller(6). As a result, the user can easily remove the jammed paper.
