PURPOSE: An apparatus and method for sorting the position information of mobile objects in a position information processing system is provided to reduce the amount of the position information of mobile objects and to swiftly generate and transmit necessary information for drivers by extracting position information essential for the automatic trace of a mobile object's position. CONSTITUTION: It is checked whether the position information of a mobile object inputted from a position information input part is an initial position(S01,S02). If it is discriminated that it is the initial position, the mobile object is registered by setting up the initial information of each condition decision part using the initial position(S03) and by storing the data(S08).
