RESOLUTION TRANSFORMATION METHOD FOR FULL SCREEN DISPLAY

PURPOSE: A resolution transformation method for full screen display is provided to transform resolutions using the pixel blocks of horizontal and vertical GCD(Greatest Common Divisor) size as a basic unit, thereby displaying video signals input as various video modes to be matched to a full screen of a LCD panel having various sizes. CONSTITUTION: The resolution transformation method for full screen display comprises a step calculating the first (Greatest Common Divisor)GCD between a horizontal resolution of an input video mode and a horizontal resolution of a displayer and the second GCD between a vertical resolution if the input mode and a vertical resolution of the displayer. Then, the horizontal and vertical resolutions of the input video mode are divided by the first/second GCDs to set a minimum transform block respectively divided the first minimum pixel and line group units, and the horizontal and vertical resolutions of the displayer are divided by the first/second GCDs to set a minimum screen block respectively divided the second minimum pixel and line group units. Finally, a video scaling process for matching the resolutions of the transform and screen blocks is repeatedly performed.
